In August and September of 2008 I lived in Kolding, Denmark. The city is very centrally located and with my car I made many trips to Odense, Aarhus and Ribe. Of course Copenhagen and Legoland were also on the Denmark-highlights list.

So how does it like having a car in Denmark? As what I have learned from other resources that car maintenance is so expensive or just the fuel.
Well I’m from Holland and brought my Dutch car (+car insurance). When it comes to fuel, I found Denmark’s prices were slightly lower than in Holland. Then again, the Netherlands has the second highest fuel prices in the world, after Norway (see http://www.aaireland.ie/petrolprices), so buying fuel in Denmark was cheap(er) for me.
Buying a car or registering your car in Denmark is rather expensive. The registration tax is 180% of the value of the car. Luckily for me, my stay in Denmark was short enough to avoid the registration-nightmare.
